The RUSIÑOL GALLERY was inaugurated in 1986, by Mr. Ignasi Cabanas , son of a well-known family of artists, residents of the city of Sant Cugat del Valles. From its beginning, they displayed exhibitions of reputed artists favoring figurative painting, although the Gallery has not ignored the wide range of paintings going from “realism” to the new figurative styles.

| 1992 | 6th Anniversary of the Rusiñol Gallery with an exhibition of Carles Nadal. Coinciding with the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games, the Gallery organizes the exhibition “Art Olympiad” and the “Olympic Dinner”. |

| 1989 | “First gathering of Biscuters (small 2 seats car) in Sant Cugat” motivated by the exhibition of painter Francesc Ortega. 3rd Anniversary of the Rusiñol Gallery with a retrospective exhibition and presentation of the book dedicated to Francesc Cabanas Alibau Projection of the film “Gràcia i Miracle” (Grace and Miracle) along with the exhibition of Miquel Cabanas. The Rusiñol Gallery is offered a plaque on occasion of the “City of Palamos Prizes”, granted in attention to the quality of its programming aiming to the creation of collections. |
