Watch and catch the different tremors of the air, with the variations that generate winds, as well as in the sea she knows how to describe the internal movements of the sea.
BIOGRAPHY
After several years of apprenticeship in the studies of such notable painters as Josep M. Martínez Lozano, he began his journey in the art world supported by the various exhibitions that have been going on uninterrupted since 1990 and that strengthen his innate sense of dialogue , so that she has found some ways to make that distinguish her within our plastic.
He works two techniques equally: oil and watercolor. In both, it develops perfectly, creating a language of its own that identifies it and makes it unique. Strength in the line, dynamism in the brushstrokes and openness in the tones define his works, open to communication with the viewer who can enter them and make them his own.
Throughout these years of intense work, she has received prizes such as the 1st Joaquina Colomer watercolor award from Verdaguer, Vila de Palamós or the 1st Marata oil award. We also find his works in museums, among which we can highlight the Martínez Lozano Watercolor Museum, the Sabadell Art Museum, the Banco Sabadell Pinacoteca … There is also a large number of published bibliography that refers to his works.
THE CREATIVE SENSE OF MAGDA ESTERLI
by Josep M. Cadena
Magda Esterli, born in Valladolid but with full integration in Catalonia since her family moved to Sabadell at the age of four, has a fast and deep look, which serves as a painter to translate her views on nature to the canvas. the one that is poured Watch and capture the different tremors of the air, with the variations that generate winds, as well as in the sea she knows how to describe the internal movements of the sea, which are like the breathing of a great element that changes colors throughout the day to express diversity of emotions.
Emotions are the great stimulus of the painter, she knows how to extract from them the necessary communicative elements so that colors explain moments that do not remain in themselves, but open to continuity. Because in the pictures of Magda Esterli we find that there is a well-measured opening to different situations that arise from the main point, or that go towards it so that the overall vision round its impulsive pictorial expression. The same can happen to him in life, but I find painting that knows how to harmonize its different registers and give personal meaning to the situations it poses.
I think Magda Esterli is in an interesting creative moment, because after several years of apprenticeship in the studies of very notable painters – I think of justice to remember Josep M. Martínez Lozano, always as much involved as he was in helping others with transmission of his creativity both in the oil and in the watercolor – and with a series of exhibitions that strengthens his innate sense of dialogue, he has found some ways to make that distinguish it within our plastic.
The paintings of Magda Esterli capture the attention for what they tell and for what the painter feels when making them. Making and feeling what is done as a sublimation of thought are different things and both are fulfilled in it with special intensity. Her marinas, for example, offer us situations that happen in life because they are factual facts, but at the same time they also express psychic situations that must be overcome – she, with her art, helps us to do it – in order to move forward.
