BIOGRAPHY

Self-taught, in 1951 he presented his first solo exhibition in Palma. A distinguished member of the Spanish Association of Pharmacists of Arts and Arts (AEFLA), he left his profession to devote himself exclusively to art. Within the post-impressionist current, he captured landscapes, light and instantly, with the will to perpetuate himself in time. His most important works show all the beauty of Mallorcan landscapes. There have been numerous exhibitions held inside and outside our borders as well as we find works by the best museums in Spain and Europe. London, Hannover, Paris or Geneva have been some of the European cities where his work could be seen. During the years 1969-1977 he was President of the Union of Fine Arts of the Balearic Islands. On the other hand, he was also a member of the European Academy of Arts since 1985. In 2008 Caixa Forum de Palma dedicated the first exhibition they organized for a living painter. In 1990 the writer Gabriel Janer Manila made a study about the figure and work of the artist and pharmacist who met in the book Nicolás Forteza.
