ALCOI, 1950 Miguel Peidro

He emphasizes with his works that the description of the environments is a widely open path to the mental interpretation of the environment.

The artist defends the architecture of the trees, the color palette changing from one season to another and the musicality intuited the streams.

THE VIRTUOUS NATURE OF MIGUEL PEIDRO

by Josep M. Cadena

Life, expressed in a special way through Nature, has existed long before the appearance of man, but it is he who, thanks to intelligence and sensitivity, has managed to fix its beauty through what we have called art. And this task is commissioned with great skill by the Alicante painter Miguel Peidro, who exhibits again in the Rusiñol Gallery in Sant Cugat.

The artist defends the architecture of the trees, the color palette changing from one season to another and the musicality intuited the streams. Before his paintings we have the feeling of being immersed in the natural landscape that is represented. So we walk through some beech trees to which the autumn has stained the golden leaves, we observe in perspective a medieval bridge that crosses a river that crosses a valley and we notice the cold air that whistles among the branches that the winter has naked.

Miguel Peidro moves away from the forests of gruesome legends and stories to frighten that are populated with bloodthirsty wolves and evil witches. Its wooded spaces are cozy and peaceful. This is because his painting goes beyond the excellent reproductive technique and claims harmony and respectful coexistence. The painter knows that delicacy implies fragility, and that the transparent waters, the exuberant forest nature and the clear air that he loves so much are not possible without a prior awareness of their importance that generates in man a commitment to preserve them. The artist does not reject human presence in natural places – there are trails, bridges and tracks in the snow – but he demands that the most evolved animal species does not destroy the common house of all living beings.

Miguel Peidro has traveled to many countries, and everywhere he has felt the emotion of Nature that he has transferred with brushes in his works. What he captures is beauty, delicacy, balance, coexistence and peace, values that we can not but share and desire for each one of us.
