Ignasi Cabanas, the Rusiñol Gallery’s manager and son of the honored Miquel Cabanas Alibau (1916-1995) is speaking about the sense of this exhibition with the title “The Sant Cugat of Miquel Cabanas”.            

  Ignasi Cabanas begins his speech. He welcomes the artist and his friends, old acquaintances and the admirers of Joaquín Mateo’s work. Mr. Cabanas remarks that this is the fifth individual exhibition of Mateo at the Rusiñol Gallery.      

We are in Autumn and we are inaugurating an exhibition almost totally dedicated to Autumn. We have asked Miguel Peidró if he also paints other seasons. —«Oh, yes, but summer is too “mono-cromo”. Furthermore, I like to find the balance between my own likes and what people expect from me. And they often ask for autumn.      

Llorenç CASAS ANFRUNS is the “gaudianist” of the Rusiñol Gallery. His “mentor” is Gaudí. His topic is Gaudí. His style, when he paints topics that are different from those of his mentor, is also “gaudianist”.      

    We close our 30th season with Abel Florido. He had already exhibited at the Rusiñol Gallery along with a collective exhibition one and a half year ago.
